TOPCLASS USERNAMES

TOPCLASS accounts will be activated on the first day of classes each semester, therefore you will not be able to log in until then.
The TOPCLASS accounts are NOT directly related to UofC or Blackboard accounts : usernames and passwords might be different.

If you registered for your class on or since the first day of classes for the current semester, then you will need to email Dr. Hunt your full name and U of C student ID number, course name and ask for a TopClass account to be set up for you.  However, before you do that, please make sure you try to login using the instructions below. Most students who request an account already have had one assigned.

Your TOPCLASS username is created based on your U of C registration information as desecribed below.

TOPCLASS usernames are your first TWO initials, followed by some (or all) of your last name up to a maximum of 8 characters.
If your U of C registration has only one initial, then that is all that is used. Some examples:

• Charles Emerson Winchester would be assigned a TOPCLASS username of 'cewinche'
• George W. Bush would be assigned a TOPCLASS username of 'gwbush'
• Albert Einstein would be assigned a TOPCLASS username of 'aeinstei'

NOTE : usernames do not contain any characters other than letters : i.e.  no commas, spaces or apostrophes

Your initial TopClass password

• if your ID number is something like 00123456, the password is your 6 digit UofC ID number, e.g. 123456
• if your ID number is something like 10012345, the password is your 8 digit UofC ID number, e.g. 10012345

If you are still having a problem, then check your official registration to check which initials should be included.
