Nucleophilic Substitution Questions  

Qu 1:  (a) Write out the isomers of C4H10O that are alcohols and name them.

(b) Identify them as being primary, secondary or tertiary 

(c) Arrange them in relative reactivity order towards HBr


Qu 2: (a) Alcohols react with HBr to give alkyl bromides, whereas there is no reaction with NaBr. Why ?

(b) If an alcohol is reacted with NaBr / H2SO4 then the alkyl bromide forms. Why ?
